Jim Norton:

New Jersey native Jim Norton is best known for his unique point of view and outspoken humor. As a comedian he has toured the country performing in front of sold out crowds. He is a New York Times best-selling author, radio personality, and television host. Each day Jim is listened to by millions of devoted fans on the Opie & Anthony Radio Show for Sirius/XM Radio, which began over a decade ago in 1999. Jim is a re-occurring guest on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and frequents the late night talk show circuit as well with credits including The Late Show with David Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Jim’s first book, HAPPY ENDINGS: The Tales of a Meaty-Breasted Zilch was published in July 2007. It spent several weeks on the bestseller list, which serves as a testament to his growing popularity. This New York Times best-seller is a collection of Jim’s personal journal entries, raunchy sex stories, embarrassing star sightings, and pathetic childhood memories. Jim’s second book, I Hate Your Guts, also became a New York Times best-seller upon its release in November 2008.

On television, Jim hosts HBO’s Down and Dirty with Jim Norton. Down and Dirty is a four- episode series showcasing new stand-up comedians. Jim was most recently seen in Monster Rain, his one-hour HBO stand-up show. He also starred in HBO’s Lucky Louie as well as in Comedy Central’s Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn. As indicated above, he has performed on many of the late night talk shows and had a half-hour special on HBO’s One Night Stand, and has been featured on both Jimmy Kimmel Live and Last Call with Carson Daly. Jim has several comedian friends as well, which is evident in his work and personal life. Artie Lange and Louis C.K. are friends and he was featured in Jerry Seinfeld’s 2002 documentary, Comedian, as well as a participant in The Roast of Bob Saget.

In addition to radio, books, TV and touring, Jim has released two CD’s of his stand-up comedy: 2002’s Yellow Discipline and 2003’s Trinkets I Own Made From Gorilla Hands.

Jim’s first inkling and inspiration to becoming a comedian came at age 12 when he saw Richard Pryor’s special Richard Pryor: Live in Concert. He wound up in rehab at 17, dropped out of high school the next year, then started signing up for open-mic nights at local bars at 21. Often pegged as an ‘angry comic’ because of his raunchy brand of humor, Jim argues the only labels in comedy that truly matter are ‘funny,’ ‘original,’ and ‘hack.’

Jim has a very extensive career, but when he isn’t touring the country and performing at well-known comedy clubs, Jim is an admitted literature lover with Irish Poet and author Samuel Beckett. He is also an avid autograph and celebrity photo collector. He is an on-air personality quickly becoming a famous face behind the voice.

He is currently living in New York City.
