Description: The "Ask A Black Man" Comedy Tour
For the past 6 years the S.E.L.L.O.U.T. Comedy Tour has been touring the US and Canada promoting racial inclusion with stand-up comedy as their platform. Initially, this was a mainstream show with black comedians trying to neutralize the "Sellout" concept, and a show with black comedians who didn't use race as a crutch. Mission accomplished.
At the end of these shows they decided to have audience members fill out questionnaires anonymously, asking questions of 4 black men to see how many questions would be based on race. Of the 2000+ questions they collected, over 90% of them were questions that had to do with the color of their skin. It's not a bad thing, but it's certainly noteworthy.
Presently the tour has taken on a different tone. Instead of explaining differences, they perform them. The "Ask A Black Man Comedy Tour" possess a variety of styles that reflect who they are as Americans - not just black Americans, the Q&A portion of their show has earned them standing ovations wherever they perform. Individually, they have a different take on each question, and although they don't answer all of them they still read them...
"...just so you know the types of people you're sitting next to."*
